Butterfly Pea Seed
A fast-establishing summer legume for building soil health and pasture diversity. Butterfly Pea is a nitrogen-fixing legume that thrives in the heat, tolerates drought once established, and adds diversity to cover crop mixes, hobby farm paddocks and home gardens.
Seed Mix Contains
What it's used for
- Warm-season legume for cover crop and pasture diversity mixes
- Green manure / soil-building crop for hobby farms, graziers and home gardens
- Adds nitrogen-fixing diversity alongside grasses in a mix
Benefits
- Nitrogen fixing — builds soil fertility naturally, reducing the need for synthetic nitrogen
- Fast ground cover — establishes within 30–40 days, helping smother weeds
- Drought tolerant once established
- Adaptable to a wide range of soils, including poorer clay and sodic soils
Important: This seed is for sowing only. Butterfly Pea seed naturally contains tannins and is not suitable for direct feeding to livestock — it's intended to go into the soil to establish and grow as a forage / cover crop, not to be fed out as seed.
